A 36-year-old Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo (EBE) man, was on Wednesday, jailed for eight months for planting marijuana. Warren Harris appeared before Magistrate Zamilla Ally-Seepaul at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court in Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara).
He pleaded guilty to the offence of cultivating prohibited plants which is contrary to Section 8(1)(a)(i) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (Control) Act Chapter 10:10. In the end, Harris, who was arrested on Tuesday, was sentenced to serve time in jail.
Police Headquarters did not release a photograph of Harris. The Police’s Communications Department only provided the media with a photograph of the marijuana plant.
