A man, Quindon Bacchus of Haslington, East Coast Demerara (ECD) was this afternoon shot dead by Police ranks. Police Headquarters said that Police ranks were in the area when they saw Bacchus with a gun and approached him.
However, as the ranks attempted to arrest Bacchus, he opened fire on them, Police Headquarters said in a report. The Police ranks responded by returning fire. A .380 pistol, one live round, and one spent shell were recovered at the scene.
