A Guyanese man who is wanted back home for murder has been arrested in neighbouring Suriname for a sexual offence involving an 11-year-old girl. They Break News understands that 25-year–old Samuel Chase was arrested on Wednesday.
Efforts are underway to have Chase of Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam, Berbice, brought back to Guyana. He has already appeared before a Dutch court for the sex offence.
Back in 2019, the Guyana Police Force issued a wanted bulletin for Chase in connection with the murder of 25-year-old Karl McDonald, known as ‘Karlie’ or ‘Donno’ which occurred on Boxing Day of 2018.
Reports state that McDonald, also known as ‘Carly’ and ‘Danno,’ of Patrick Dam, Angoy’s Avenue, Berbice was brutally chopped while at a barbecue in his community. An autopsy later revealed that he died as a result of the single chop wound he sustained to his chest.
It was reported that Chase and McDonald had a heated argument over a woman which escalated into a fight. His alleged killer reportedly fled to Suriname via the back-track route and managed to keep a low profile until he was held for the sex crime.
