Police Headquarters said that a whitish hard substance suspected to be narcotics was found in the vehicle in which two men, who are reportedly friends, were found dead earlier today at the Marriott Hotel parking lot in Kingston, Georgetown.
Crime sleuths are currently viewing Close Circuit Television (CCTV) as investigations into the deaths of 34-year-old Justin Teixeira, a Flight Attendant with American Airlines and Paishnarine Hansraj, a 25-year-old from Hague Backdam, West Coast Demerara (WCD) continue.
At about 00:16h today, Police ranks at the Brickdam Police Station received information that two men were lying motionless in a car in the parking lot of the five-star hotel.
When investigators arrived at the scene, they were told by a 28 year-old employee of the hotel that he received a call at around 23:30h on Friday from Justin Teixeira’s mother, June Teixeira, 60.
The employee said that the pensioner of Middle Road, La Penitence, Georgetown related that her son was having a seizure and asked if someone could check on him. The hotel employee said he immediately dispatched another employee to check on Justin Teixeira who was staying in a room on the hotel’s sixth floor.
But when the employee arrived, his room was empty. The employee then went to Justin Teixeira’s black Honda Vezel motorcar PAC 2607 that was parked in the hotel’s parking lot.
While there, he observed Justice Teixeira sitting in the driver’s seat. All the windows of his car were half-way down. The employee said he opened the front passenger door and discovered Hansraj sitting in a crunch-like position. They were both motionless.
The hotel employee said that he immediately called 911 and the Ambulance with Emergency Medical Technicians along with Police ranks arrived at the scene where they were both pronounced dead.
The scene and bodies were processed by ranks from the Crime Scene Unit. No marks of violence were seen on the exposed parts of the men’s bodies. A plastic container containing a whitish hard substance suspected to be narcotics was found on the back seat of the car.
The bodies of Teixeira and Hansraj were escorted to the Memorial Garden Funeral Home awaiting post mortem examinations. Investigations, including the review of CCTV footage, are ongoing.
Shortly before he was found dead, Hansraj updated his Facebook (FB) status with the following words: “I hope the world find peace today I love you all”.
Meanwhile, Teixeira’s last FB post was made last night. He posted a photograph of himself, tagged his location as being at the Guyana Marriott Hotel and wrote: “Life is like a coin. You can spend it any way you wish, but you only spend it once”.
