President Dr Irfaan Ali joined Christian worshippers at the Lifespring Ministries, Chateau Margot, East Coast Demerara, this morning for Good Friday Service.
President Ali spoke about the importance of the Church and said that it is an integral part of any society. He said the Church is where important principles such as justice, peace, tolerance, patience, and faith rests.
He noted that this foundation must always be a beacon of hope and should always lead by example.
“Today is not only about celebration and reflection but presents an opportunity for the renewal of faith,” he stated.
Good Friday is a day of reflection, especially about the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. It is observed by fasting and prayer.
President Ali was joined by the Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, Anil Nandlall.
