Two women on Thursday were arrested for allegedly robbing Joel Ghansham of over $100,000 in cash and grocery by falsely pretending that they had a sick child.
According to a video that is circulating on Facebook that was uploaded by Jaichand Steve Wahid, the two women are being accused of extorting money from Ghansham for their personal use by claiming that they had a sick child admitted in the hospital, who is currently undergoing surgery.
One of the woman can be heard saying, “Ow Joel sorry for meh na man?” Joel said ‘sorry? You’re a devil, you’re a devil. You’re going to jail. I pressing charges, mah put you and you in jail.'”
Another man could be heard saying to the woman as she tried to explain and beg, “Yeah but you keep telling us lies you get me coming all the way from Mahaica to drop money for you.”
She said “oh meh god sorry for me nah?” and the man replied saying, “no you have to go to the lock up because that is a very serious offence ya do. Look how much thing the guy buy there today for you?”
Meanwhile, the other woman kept pleading to be given another chance while noting that she has a baby to go home to.
However, the women also appeared to have been messaging the other man via WhatsApp and the woman denied messaging him.
The man continued to say, “the whole public hospital we deh walking today.”
After a minute, Ghansham began asking the woman, “why did you do this to me? Why did you rob me? Why did you do this to me? Why did you rob me?”
As the woman pleaded with Ghansham to give her a chance to explain, the woman related that she took the money and put it to her own personal use.
An upset Ghansham then asked, “why did you lie to me? I keep giving you money and you told me the child is in surgery. You pretended to be the nurse, and the other man could be heard saying the woman had pretended to be Some nurse Nelson and spoke to them over the phone.”
Nevertheless, Ghansham told the woman as she begged him to show remorse that he is not helping her and asked cops to arrest both of them.
Soon after her daughter went down on her knees and begged while claiming that she don’t have any knowledge about the money, adding that she only knew about pampers and groceries.
Additionally, the man concluded by saying to the woman that if she had needed money to do something, she could have told the truth. Still, instead, she lied and said that she had a sick child in the hospital and that the baby is undergoing surgery while she has to amputate her foot.
