Bibi Razac, 57, of Lot 104 Main Street Cumberland, East Canje, Berbice is currently hospitalised after the electric bike she was riding collided with a car. The accident occurred on Wednesday at around 15:45hrs at Sheet Anchor Public Road, East Canje, Berbice.
A Police report said that motorcar PRR 2107 owned and driven by 42-year-old Collis Paydana of Tucber Park, New Amsterdam, Berbice was proceeding west on the southern drive lane at a normal rate of speed.
The driver alleged that he turned on his left indicator light to turn into Burn Bush Dam, East Canje, Berbice. However, while doing so, he claimed that the motorcyclist, who was proceeding north on Cumberland Public Road, East Canje, Berbice, rode into his vehicle.
As a result of the collision, Razac fell off of the electric bike and onto the road where she received injuries to her body.
She was picked up in a conscious condition by Paydana and taken to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital where she was treated for a fractured left wrist and a fractured right foot.
She has been admitted as a patient. The driver of the motorcar is in Police custody assisting with investigations.
