A total of $3.5M in cocaine along with a .32 Taurus firearm, 27 9mm rounds, a magazine, and 25 matching .32 rounds were found at the Eccles, East Bank Demerara (EBD) home of businessman, Andrew Morgan, 52, the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) has reported.
The discovery of the illegal items was made earlier on Monday following an operation at Morgan’s house by CANU ranks. CANU, in a report, said that its ranks went to the Lot 142 Ixora Avenue, Eccles, EBD property where Morgan was the lone occupant.
According to a statement from the law enforcement agency, Morgan was arrested and escorted to CANU headquarters along with the illegal items. The quantity of cocaine has a total weight of 3.27 kilogrammes and a street value of approximately GY $ 3.5 million.
Investigations are in progress.
They Break News understands that Andrew Morgan, is the brother of convicted drug trafficker, Peter Morgan, who had served a 10-year jail sentence in the USA. Andrew Morgan was reportedly under surveillance by CANU for some time.
