Three more fatalities take COVID-19 death toll to 489; 77 new cases

Three more persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have died, taking the total number of deaths from the virus locally to 489. 

The latest fatalities are a 36-year-old man from Region Five (Mahaica-Berbice), a 66-year-old woman, also from Region Five, and a 75-year-old pensioner from Region Four( Demerara-Mahaica). 

The new cases recorded are from Region One, Region Two, Region Three, Region Four, Region Five, Region Six, Region Seven, Region Nine, and Region 10 (four cases). 

Meanwhile, 77 new persons have tested positive for the deadly virus, taking the total confirmed cases to 20,834. 

So far, a total of 18,911 have since recovered from the life-threatening disease, with 11 persons in the dedicated COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 87 in institutional isolation, 1,336 in-home isolation, and 10 in institutional quarantine.
