The new tourism experiences launched will be run by two local tour operations, Wanderlust Adventures GY and Trailmasters Guyana. The six new tourism experiences launched are the lake Capoey tour, the multi-activity Yarrowkabra experience, the rainforest escape, the Georgetown bar hopping experience, the Leguan-Wakenaam-Hogg Island tour, and a farm-to-table experience at Parika in region three.
Wanderlust Adventures GY will be responsible for the Georgetown bar hopping experience, rainforest escape, and the ‘agritourism’ farm-to-table experience at Parika . Trailmasters Guyana will be responsible for the tri-island tour, the Yarrowkabra experience, and the Lake Capoey tour.
In developing the packages according to the Director of the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) Kamrul Baksh, the local tour companies collaborated with the GTA and other stakeholders. He noted in planning the tour packages, the security of persons on the tours was a primary focus, as well as making the price of each tour affordable to local tourists.
Baksh further emphasized that Guyana is poised to welcome much more visitors in 2023, and attract wider regional and international markets. He noted that this creates a demand for more tourism destinations and experiences.
