Snow cone vendor killed in Tuschen accident

A man who sells snow cones was killed on Monday in an accident at Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo. The name and other particulars of the now-dead man are unknown at this time. 

An eyewitness said that the man was riding a bicycle heading in the direction of Parika, East Bank Essequibo, in the vicinity of the Double Day Hotel when the driver of a Toyota Fielder Wagon collided with him. As such, the pedal cyclist collided with a Canter truck before falling onto the roadway.

The man was pronounced dead at the accident scene. His body was later taken away by Police officers. The driver of the car was arrested at the scene. He is currently in Police custody assisting with investigations.  More details will be provided in a subsequent report.
