A Britten-Norman Islander plane belonging to the Roraima Airways was on Wednesday involved in a runway excursion during take-off at the Aricheng runway in Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni).

Confirming this was the Director of Aviation of Roraima Airways Captain Gerald Gouveia Jr.

“We had a runway excursion today at Aricheng runway involving one of our aircraft at  16:00hrs.  There were no injuries, and we are still confirming the extent of damage on the aircraft, and we are flying the investigative team in tomorrow.”

This publication understands that the plane was being piloted by Captain Ryan Prashad and was shuttling fuel to a few interior mining locations.

However, the Britten-Norman Islander is the third aircraft incident for the month of July.
