Minister of Labour, Joseph Hamilton handed over two cheques valued at $250,000 each for efficient execution of Board of Industrial Training (BIT) programmes in Region One.
One cheque was given to the Mayor of Mabaruma, Chris Phang to purchase training materials for the practical aspect of a welding and fabrication course being executed.
The other cheque was given to the Toshao of Kamwatta Village, Riley Henry to purchase materials and commence the practical aspect of a shade house gardening course being done in that community.
In addition, Minister Hamilton also handed over a motorcycle to the BIT Technical officer stationed in Mabaruma, Trevi Leung so that he can efficiently navigate around the town to conduct his work.
