Police destroy $115 million worth of marijuana plants, dried cannabis in Berbice River

Ranks of Police Regional Division Six carried out a drug eradication exercise on Monday on the west bank of Fort Nassau, Berbice River where 120,000 marijuana plants were destroyed along with 450 pounds of dried cannabis. The items, according to a Police report, are valued at $115 million.

The marijuana plants were discovered on four farms and ranged from one foot to six feet in height. Police ranks also found a camp and drying area. In the drying area, a further discovery unearthed 450 pounds of cannabis. The camp, dried cannabis, and cannabis plants were destroyed by fire.
