There is still no word on a timeline for the return of People’s National Congress/Reform (PNC/R) General Secretary, Geeta Chandan-Edmond who was sent on leave over two months ago. Opposition Leader, Aubrey Norton continues to be tight-lipped on matter but has committed to providing an update in the future.

Very little to no information on when General Secretary of the PNC/R, Geeta Chandan-Edmond will resume her duties in the party has been emanating from opposition. At a recent press conference, Norton was asked by They Break News to indicate a date when the General Secretary will return to office.

“I cannot provide a timeline at this stage, shortly we will engage, then the press will be informed of what the situation is,” he stated.

Chandan-Edmond who ventured on leave sometime in September had previously ruled out personal difficulties as a contributing factor in her decision to proceed on leave.

Efforts by They Break News to contact Chandan-Edmond via telephone were unsuccessful since the calls went unanswered. In the interim, Hazel Pyle-Lewis has been assigned to perform administrative duties of the party.

Chandan-Edmond, a former Magistrate assumed duties as PNCR General Secretary, succeeding Amna Ally after Norton won the elections for party leader in December, 2021.
