“Pappy” remanded for ganja found in speaker box

Remanded to prison: Ronaldo Chapman

A man who was arrested after a quantity of marijuana was found concealed in a speaker box was on Tuesday charged and remanded to prison. Ronaldo Chapman otherwise known as “Pappy”, 23, of 73 Half Mile Wismar, Linden appeared before Magistrate Wanda Fortune at the Linden Magistrate’s Court. 

He denied the charge which stated that on December 25, 2021, at Block 22 Wismar, Linden, he had 121.4 grammes of marijuana in his possession for the purpose of trafficking. The accused is due back in court on February 7, 2022.

On December 25, last, ranks of the Customs Anti Narcotic Unit (CANU) arrested Chapman at a house in Block 22 Wismar, Linden where a search unearthed several ziplock bags and a black plastic bag containing cannabis concealed in a speaker box. He was thereafter escorted to CANU headquarters in Georgetown where the drug was weighed in his presence and amounted to 121.4 grammes.
