Opposition promises to provide essential school supplies to Victory Valley, Linden youths

Last Friday, the Leader of the Opposition, Aubrey Norton visited the community of Victory Valley in Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice) where he and his team had the opportunity to engage with residents and listen to their concerns.

During the visit, a statement from the Opposition said that Norton was particularly struck by the challenges faced by the young people in the community and was determined to do everything he could to support their education and development.

As such, he committed to providing assistance with acquiring essential school supplies and footwear and vowed to work towards improving the overall availability of education in the community. He also pledged to help improve the infrastructure in Victory Valley, Linden by supporting the installation of lamp posts and lights in hard-to-reach areas.

“The people of Victory Valley Linden were delighted to see the Leader of the Opposition and his team and grateful for his promises of support. Mr. Norton reassured the community that he would continue to stand with them and to work tirelessly to address their needs and improve their quality of life,” the statement added

According to the release, the visit was a testament to the Leader of the Opposition’s dedication to serving the people of Guyana and working towards a brighter future for all.  It said that the walkabout event was a resounding success, as it allowed the Leader of the Opposition to connect with the people of Victory Valley and understand their needs and concerns.

Norton noted at the end of the walkabout that he left the community inspired and committed to continuing his efforts to make a positive difference in the lives of the people he met.

Those accompanying the Leader of the Opposition on this outreach were Regional Chairman Deron Adams, Vice Chairman Mark Goring, Members of Parliament Jermaine Figuiera and Devin Sears, GYSM Chairman (ag) Kibwe Copeland, Regional Councilors and other party officials.
