A post-mortem examination (PME) conducted on the remains of 22-year-old Linden schoolteacher, Kelly Charlotte revealed that she was stabbed 30 times.
The PME was conducted on Wednesday by Government Pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and Crematorium in Georgetown.
Charlotte’s cause of death was given as multiple incise wounds.
Police Headquarters, on Monday, reported that Charlotte, of 790 One Mile Extention, Wismar, Linden, was stabbed to death by her son’s father at around 21:15h on Sunday.
She was murdered by Leston Baynes, a 28-year-old truck driver of One Mile Extention Wismar, Linden. Baynes was found dead on Tuesday hanging in a house at Blueberry Hill, Wismar, Linden.
He died by suicide. His cause of death was given as asphyxiation due to hanging.
Enquiries disclosed that the now-deceased woman ended the relationship with the man and was living with her 27-year-old sister. According to the deceased woman’s sister, at about 10:00h on Sunday, Baynes visited the home and collected his son.
At about 21:15h, he returned the child to the house, and Charlotte went to the front door to collect the child. The 27-year-old woman stated that she was in the kitchen when she heard her sibling shouting her name. The woman immediately ran to the front of the house, where she saw Baynes stabbing her sister about her body with a knife.
The woman immediately called the Police while the man made good his escape on foot.
Charlotte was taken to the Linden Hospital Complex, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
