Motorcyclist slapped with several traffic charges


Jamal Byass of Dukestown Corentyne Berbice was arraigned on Thursday before Magistrate Rabindranauth Singh in the Springlands Magistrate’s Court to answer to a number of traffic offences. 

Byass was charged with three offences, which include five counts of failing to stop when directed by a Police Constable, five counts of driving without wearing a safety helmet, and two counts of carrying a pillion rider without a safety helmet. 

He pleaded guilty to all the charges and was fined a total of $55,000.00- or two weeks imprisonment.
