More than 40 employers from several sectors, including business processing outsourcing, hospitality, and oil and gas will be participating in the Ministry of Labour’s inaugural job fair slated for November 28 at the Arthur Chung Convention Centre.
The event is being hosted by the Central Recruitment and Manpower arm of the Ministry of Labour. It is expected to be held at the Arthur Chung Convention Centre from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and will feature some of the country’s premier employers in a number of fields some of which will be offering both full-time and part-time career opportunities.
Chief Recruitment and Manpower Officer, Yolanda Grant indicated that the event will cater for as many job seekers as possible. She said participants should have original and copies of their resume, academic and skill certificates as well as proof of identification readily available upon arriving at the venue.
Each employer, she noted will have varying employment requirements but it is essentially important for participants to dress appropriately. “Dress ready to work,” she said.
The Chief Recruitment and Manpower Officer informed They Break News that people with no work experience as well as those who did not complete secondary school can also participate in the job fair.
Representatives from several companies including Unicomer Guyana Incorporated, John Fernandes Limited, Noble Drilling Incorporated and the Guyana Marriott will be seeking new recruits at the event.
