Two Guyanese and two foreign nationals were robbed of a quantity of cash and jewellery valuing $1.3 million while consuming alcohol in front of their No. 68 Village, Corentyne, Berbice home.
According to a statement from Police Headquarters, the victims and other relatives were in front of their yard imbibing when four unidentifiable men entered the yard through a gate.
The men were all dressed in dark-coloured clothing with black masks over their faces. Three of them were armed with handguns, while the other was armed with a knife.
The men held the victims at gunpoint and relieved them of their belongings- two cell phones valued at $98,000, several rings valued at $450,000, several bangles valued at $586,000, and $175,000 in cash. The men then made good their escape on foot.
A report was lodged with the Police. Investigations are ongoing.
