After being on the run for several days, Suraj Ganpat, who is accused of stabbing his 25-year-old wife to death, surrendered to the Police on Thursday.
Cindy Ramachandar of Number 47 Village, Corentyne, Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne) was fatally stabbed by Ganpat, 37, on Monday.
It was reported that the man became jealous after his wife ended their relationship and became romantically involved with another man.
Reports indicate that the man used his car to hit the woman off of her electric scooter, before stabbing her several times about her body.
She was pronounced dead on arrival at the Skeldon Public Hospital.
They Break News understands that the murder suspect surrendered to ranks at the Central Police Station in New Amsterdam on Thursday evening.
An autopsy showed that the woman received four stab wounds and died as a result of haemorrhaging due to multiple stab wounds.
Gunpat will remain in custody pending Police investigations.
