Two men from Georgetown were shot in Linden on Saturday night, leaving one of them dead and the other injured at Sunflower Street, Wismar Linden.
Dead is 23-year-old Delron McKenzie of Roxanne Burnham, while his 25- year-old friend Calvin Daly has received two gunshot wounds about his body.
Reports are that McKenzie asked Daly to accompany him to visit a female friend in Linden yesterday.
Daly reportedly told investigators that they arrived in Linden via public transportation at about 21:00 hrs and went to Church’s to purchase chicken.
The 23-year-old then contacted the female friend, who told him to join a boat at the last stelling at the McKenzie shore. On arrival at the Wismar shore, the deceased contacted the female, and he was told to walk up the road to Sunflower Street.
They then went through the street further down to a bridge, and a short distance in the cross street, the female friend, contacted them and told him to turn around since she will be sending a silver wagon to pick them up.
The duo walked out of the street where the silver wagon car turned around, and as McKenzie approached the vehicle to open the back door, a male opened the door and started to shoot at him while another male came out of the front passenger seat and opened fire too.
Daly ran for cover, leaving McKenzie behind. According to Daly, the car had three male occupants at the time, but he did not recognize any of them.
They joined the car and continued to drive in a southern direction towards Silver City street. The injured man claimed that he doesn’t know anything about the female that his friend brought him to Linden to meet.
Daly received two gunshot wounds on the left and right lower arm with abrasions to both of his arms. He was escorted to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he was admitted as a patient and scheduled to be transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) for surgery.
The deceased’s body was then escorted to the Linden Hospital Complex, where it was examined by the doctor on duty, who pronounced him dead on arrival. The body was then escorted to the GJetso Funeral home, awaiting a Post Mortem Examination (PME).
No arrests have been made, but investigations are continuing.
