Twenty-two-year-old Joseph Ferdinand called ‘Joshua’, a construction worker was stabbed to death on Monday by another man at Friendship, East Bank Demerara (EBD).
A Police report said that the two men had a misunderstanding during which the suspect, who was armed with a knife, dealt Ferdinand two stabs- one to his upper left chest and one to his lower left side chest- before making good his escape.
Ferdinand who resides at Friendship, EBD was picked up by residents and escorted to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he was pronounced dead on arrival. His body is presently lying at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home awaiting an autopsy.
The suspect was later arrested by the Police after injuries were observed to his face and body at the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he went for treatment. He is presently being treated under Police guard for injuries he received at the hands of public-spirited citizens. Investigations are ongoing.
