The first ten families to benefit from the government’s low-income housing units at Prospect, East Bank Demerara, can now begin occupying their homes.
Senior Housing Administration Officer, Ms. Gaitree Ramawad, presented the keys to the beneficiaries this morning.
The low-income flat units are valued at a cost of $5.5 million (inclusive of the cost of the land) and each feature two bedrooms with a kitchen and bath.
Construction for a total of fifty homes was undertaken by the Central Housing and Planning Authority. The keys for the additional units are expected to be handed over soon, as the beneficiaries finalize the necessary documentation.
