“I am begging like a baby, please help me find my child safe” – mom of teen who ran away from CPA

A mother, who was forced to return to Guyana after her daughter ran away from the Child Care and Protection Agency (CPA) for the second time, has issued an urgent appeal for her safe return.

The missing girl has been identified as 14-year-old Mellisa Jagmohan, also known as Melly of Lot 333 Tuschen, North East Bank Essequibo (EBE). This publication understands that this is the second time the child has escaped from the Agency.

The teen who was in the custody of the CPA reportedly escaped from the Sophia Holding Center on Tuesday between 4:00-5:00hrs.

“I was in the USA at the time when I learnt that Melly ran away from the Child care after, I contacted one of the officers to notify her that I will be purchasing a ticket to send for my child,” the grieving mother said.

In fact, she revealed that as the social worker broke the news to her, she immediately booked a ticket and returned to Guyana on Friday last, where she began searching for her daughter.

“Please, I am begging like a baby, please help me find my child safe, please,” the tearful mother said.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Jagmohan is asked to make urgent contact with the CPA, the nearest police station, or Jagmohan’s mother on contact number +592-677-2070.
