Gun-toting bandit pounces on food vendor cooking at home


A 42-year-old food vendor of Wisroc Housing Scheme, Linden was on Thursday robbed by one unidentifiable male at around 20:00h at her home. 

They Break News understands that the victim resides alone and was in her home cooking while her front patio door was left partially open. 

The victim observed a male with a red handkerchief tied around his face covering his nose, mouth, and chin coming through her door brandishing a small silver handgun and demanding money and gold. 

The victim told the gunman that she did not have any money after which he threatened to shoot her. 

The suspect then went on his cellular phone and reportedly made a call to someone telling them “take a good look outside.”

He then ordered the woman to lie on the bedroom floor and began ransacking her home, while demanding money and gold.

He then went into her purse which was in her bedroom and removed $65,000 in cash before walking briskly through the victim’s back door and escaped into the dark area. 

The victim later went to the Wisroc Police Outpost and made a report.  

No one was injured and no round was discharged. 

Investigations are ongoing.
