According to a reliable source, Geeta Chandan-Edmond, General Secretary of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR), has announced her resignation from her position but will continue to serve on the party’s executive and as a Member of Parliament.
Chandan-Edmond was appointed General Secretary of the party by Opposition Leader, Aubrey Norton on January 3, 2022.
She did, however, ventured on a lengthy leave of absence sometime in September before recently resuming her duties. They Break News understands that no particular reasons were given for her decision to resign and she is expected with the Opposition Leader soon.
During her absence, there were a lot of speculations regarding herdisapproval with decisions that were being made in the party. Norton remained tight-lipped on the matter despite being asked repeated questions.
Following Amna Ally’s resignation as PNCR General Secretary after Norton won the party’s leadership elections in December 2021, Chandan-Edmond, a former Magistrate, took over the position.
