Senior Minister in the Office of the President with the responsibility for Finance, Dr. Ashni Singh on Monday visited the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) office in Anna Regina, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam).
While there, he distributed pension books to long-awaiting pensioners whose NIS matters were addressed at previous outreaches held in that region earlier this year.
The pensioners expressed gratitude to the minister and the NIS for organising outreaches to address their issues efficiently. Also, the pensioners received payments from the time they were eligible to start receiving them.
Dr. Singh expressed that he was happy to have the long-standing issues affecting Guyanese resolved and committed to resolving more issues in the near future.
