Female nurse arrested after unlicensed gun found under tree

The unlicensed firearm and live rounds that Police ranks found in the nurse's yard

A 29-year-old female nurse is currently in Police custody after an unlicensed gun and live rounds were found in a haversack under a tree at her ‘B’ Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown residence.

Police ranks acting on information went to the woman’s home in search of one Romerio Hudson called ‘Mario’, age 34,  who is wanted in connection with an alleged murder. While there, ranks contacted the nurse who claimed that she was Hudson’s girlfriend.

Thereafter, a search was conducted in her home but nothing of evidential value was found. However, during a search of the yard, Police ranks found a black haversack under a tree. Inside the haversack was a Beretta handgun with one magazine and two live 9MM rounds.

The woman was asked if she is the holder of a firearm license and she said no.  She was then told of the offence committed and cautioned; she remained silent.

The nurse was escorted to the Turkeyen Police Station where the firearm and ammunition were marked, sealed, and lodged in her presence. Investigations are in progress.
