On Tuesday, the Guyana Rice Development Board (GRDB) received in excess of $3 million worth of equipment from the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) to assist with the Board’s extension operations.
During the handing over exercise, Agriculture Minister Zulfikar Mustapha said that the equipment will help with improving the monitoring and data collection capabilities of the GRDB.
The donation included 30 electronic tablets, servers, data entry software tools, and technical assistance. They will be used by extension officers during field visits to better serve rice farmers across the country.
