A former member of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) was on Monday charged with the offence of rape of a child under 16 contrary to Section 10(3) of the Sexual Offences Act.
Randell Williams, 30, of Paradise Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore. He was not required to plead to the indictable charge after it was read to him at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court. He was released on $150,000 bail.
Conditionality of the bail is that he lodges his passport with the court and report to the Cove and John Police Station every Wednesday until the hearing and determination of a preliminary inquiry.
His next court date is December 2, 2022.
