Driver killed after losing control of car on Soesdyke/Linden Highway


Mark Cameron, 29, of Guyhoc Park, Georgetown is now dead after he reportedly lost control of the motorcar he was driving at around 09:10 hours on Friday. The accident happened at Marudi Public Road, Soesdyke/Linden Highway.

The occupants of the vehicle included: Quakey Stanford, 38, of 133 Guyhoc Park, Georgetown; Calldella Marshal, 25, of 5 Stevedore Housing Scheme, Georgetown and Shemika Richards, 23, of  83 Laing Avenue, East Ruimveldt, Georgetown.

All three of the occupants received injuries to their bodies. They Break News understands that the motorcar PVV 8399 was proceeding north along the western side of the road at a fast rate of speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle. 

As a result, the car ended up on the eastern parapet and turned turtle causing the driver to fall out of the vehicle. Cameron was picked up in an unconscious condition while the occupants were picked up in a conscious condition and taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre.

Cameron was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital, while the others were admitted as patients. The dead man’s body is presently lying at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home awaiting a post mortem examination.
