A 38-year-old man is now dead after he was fatally stabbed by another man during an argument over owed monies. Dead is Andre Collison called DJ ‘Choppy’ of Bartica, Essequibo River.
According to information, the incident took place at around 01:30 hours on Friday at Puruni Landing, Middle Mazaruni. Reports indicate that at around 01:00 hours on the day in question, Collison left his room in search of food and went to Two Blessed Sisters Restaurant and made an order.
While waiting to collect his food, the suspect went into the said establishment where an argument broke out between him and Collison over monies owed.
The argument became heated and the suspect drew a knife from the waist of his pants and stabbed Collison several times about his body and then made good his escape. The victim was picked up by public-spirited citizens and taken to the Puruni Health Post where he died while receiving treatment.
The suspect who is known has not yet been arrested. Investigations are ongoing.
