A 58-year-old man who was deported from the United States of America (USA) in 2019 for trafficking marijuana, was on Tuesday arrested for a similar offence.
Avery Cummings was detained after Customs Anti Narcotics Unit (CANU) ranks went to his Swam Sam Ville Linden-Soesdyke Highway residence and conducted a search.
According to information, ranks acting on information conducted a narcotics operation at the man’s residence and he was intercepted with a quantity of cannabis.
During the operation, several parcels of creepy weed (foreign) weighing over 5.3 kilogramme (11 pounds) were found. The CANU ranks also found several Ziploc bags containing cannabis, cannabis seeds amounting to 3.68 grammes, and 3.5 grammes of Hashish.
The items were seized and he was arrested and taken to CANU headquarters.
