Cocaine found hidden between Christmas cards destined for New York

Ranks of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) while performing duties at the Guyana Post Office (GPO) on Friday,  discovered 647.6 grammes of cocaine hidden in five yellow envelopes.

The envelopes which were destined for Brooklyn, New York City, each had cocaine concealed in a sealed plastic pack in between Christmas cards. CANU estimated the value of the drug to be $3.4 million. Investigations are ongoing.
