CANU pledges to make communities safer by removing those who sell, distribute narcotics

On November 3, 2021, Customs Anti Narcotic Unit (CANU) ranks conducted search operations at Durban Backlands, Georgetown area and found a quantity of Ziploc bags, tobacco leaves, along with a quantity of cannabis. The cannabis weighed 872 grammes.

CANU said that its narcotic operations are targeting persons who are engaged in the selling as well as distribution of narcotics from stands, shops, and other roadside areas. 

“The aim being, making communities safer by removing those that are engaging in narcotic activities,” said CANU Head James Singh.
