On Thursday, 18th August, Leader of the Opposition and the People’s National Congress Reform Aubrey Norton, and a team conducted an outreach in the village of Bagotville, West Bank Demerara (WBD) in Region Three (Essequibo Islands- West Demerara).
He was accompanied by Member of Parliament and PNCR Chairman, Shurwayne Holder; GYSM National Chairman, Kibwe Copeland; local party members, and Shonelle Smith-Daniels and other party staff.
As the Leader and team walked the village, residents shared their concerns about the poor state of drains and other infrastructure and the discriminatory way in which cash grants for farmers and small businesses are being distributed.
Some residents also noted that while the David Granger buses still operate, they only transport secondary school students, ignoring the primary-level students, who are left to find their own way to and from school.
The Leader of the Opposition and team explained the coalition’s people-first vision where all will benefit from the country’s resources adequately and equitably.
