Yusuf Hinds, of Bartica, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni), who is accused of raping an underage girl, has been released on $150,000 bail.
The 26-year-old man appeared at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday charged with the offence of engaging in sexual penetration with a child below age 16.
Hinds was not required to plead to the indictable charge.
It is alleged that he committed the crime between October 1 and 31.
The case has been adjourned until November 21, 2022.
