Two Albouystown, Georgetown men were on Thursday remanded to prison by Magistrate Fabayo Azore, after they were accused of robbing a Guyana Defence Force (GDF) member.

Junior Jordan, a 32-year-old labourer of Non-Pariel Street, Albouystown, Georgetown, and Brandon Robinson, 18, of Hunter Street, Albouystown, Georgetown were not required to plead to the indictable charge after it was read to them at the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court.

It is alleged that on September 29 at Good Hope, Phase 3, ECD, they robbed 23-year-old Marlon Reynolds of a red and black XR motorcycle, CJ 4308 for which the value is unknown– property of the GDF, a white and black iPhone 8 valued at $80,000 and $15,000 in cash.

The case will be called again on November 7 for statements.

Police Headquarters reported that the young soldier was standing in front of his girlfriend’s home at Phase 3, Good Hope Access Road, ECD when three men drove up in a dark-coloured motor car.

The driver pointed a suspected AK rifle at Reynolds while another male jumped out from behind the driver’s seat and pointed a small handgun at the soldier and told him “Not to move”.

They then relieved the GDF rank of the items mentioned in the charge.

Two of the men, the Police said, escaped in the vehicle while the third male jumped on Reynold’s motorcycle and made good his escape north along the Phase 3 Access Road.
