Albouystown man wanted, teen among two arrested for Laing Avenue murder

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) on Tuesday issued a wanted bulletin for Andrew Ridley called “Aids Man” in connection with the murder of 53-year-old Dexter Mc Farlene.

Ridely, 30, is last known to be residing at Lot 173 Campbell Street, Albouystown, Georgetown.

Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Ridely is asked to contact the Police on 225-8196, 226-7476, 225-6940, 225-2317, 227-1149 or the nearest Police station.

All information will be treated with strict confidence.

Meanwhile, Police Headquarters has reported that 16-year-old Shane Gordon of Lot 173 Campbell and Sussex Streets, Albouystown, Georgetown and Shemroy Patterson, 23, a security guard of Linden, Region 10 have been detained for the man’s murder.

Mc Farlene, a construction worker, lost his life tragically two Fridays ago after he was struck by a stray bullet at Second Bridge, Laing Avenue, West Ruimveldt, Georgetown.

They Break News understands that the man had just exited a minibus and was making his way home, when he was hit by a stray bullet.

At the time of the incident, several young men were reportedly shooting at each other. According to reports, the shooting stemmed from an old grievance.

According to the Police, an intelligence-led operation led to the arrest of Gordon and Patterson at Number 53 Village, Corentyne, Berbice on Monday.

McFarlane’s body bore a gunshot wound to the left side chest.
