In an invited comment, he said “the number one concern was the increase in fertilizer (prices) but I’ve explained to them what we’re doing as a government, because it is a worldwide phenomenon…. I also told them what the President has said… we are working directly with bilateral partners to see if we can bring in fertilizer.”

The minister noted that other issues such as the state of dams and rates and taxes were also discussed. He said generally he thinks it was a “very good meeting.”

Residents of Anna Regina also expressed similar sentiments and hopefulness in the minister fulfilling commitments made.
