A 70-year-old pensioner of Tuschen North, East Bank Essequibo, last evening returned home to a ransacked room and his valuables stolen.
According to a police release, the elderly man disclosed that he secured his home by the means provided leaving everything intact, and went to work.
Upon his return around 21:45 hrs last evening, he saw his eastern wall prised open and his room ransacked.
He made checks and observed that his gold ring valued at $50,000, one black Samsung J7 cellphone valued at $40,000, and $30,000 cash missing.
The matter was reported to the police and investigations are in progress.
