Police Headquarters said that a 23-year-old female, a 19-year-old male, and three juveniles ages 16, 16, and 15 were on Tuesday arrested at around 11:00h in Guyhoc Park, Georgetown for having an unlicenced firearm along with ammunition in their possession.
A Police report said that a Corporal and a party of police ranks went to Guyhoc Park, Georgetown where they met the five suspects. A search was requested and conducted on a two-storied wooden and concrete structure where they reside.
Police found a black bag on a chair which when opened in their presence revealed one .32 revolver with its serial number filed off containing four .32 live rounds of ammunition. The suspects were asked to produce a valid firearm licence and were unable to do so.
Subsequently, they were all told of the offence committed, cautioned, and arrested. As the search continued, six cellular phones and one tablet were also found. They all denied ownership and as such were escorted to the East La Penitence Police Station.
Investigations are ongoing.
