Mark Fontanelle, 20, of Lot 67 First Phase, Kwakwani, Upper Berbice River, was on Thursday remanded to prison on a child rape charge.
He appeared via Zoom before Magistrate Wada Fortune at the Linden Magistrate’s Court.
The accused was arrested on November 07, 2021, and charged with rape of a child under the age of 16 contrary to Section 10(3) of the Sexual Offences Act Chapter 8:03.
He was not required to plead to the indictable charge after it was read to him. Fontanelle was remanded to prison until November 19, 2021 when the case wil be called for reports.
