The HIAS NGO, in partnership with the Bartica Regional Hospital, the Hope Foundation, and Regional Chairman of Region Seven, Kenneth Williams recently returned to the middle Mazaruni area and conducted a four-day post-flood outreach exercise, which saw 18 families benefiting from cash grants.

The cash grants are to aid in repairs to their homes and farms while other families and residents including migrants from the Issano, Semang, Kangaruma, Tamakay, and Isseneru landings received assistance.
Besides, information was shared during this exercise on the HIAS services and their locations to persons, so that they can access assistance on gender-based violence issues and similar concerns.

The sharing of HIV information through “one on one” and small groups interactions were also conducted with persons having access to malaria testing.
Residents during the exercise also received their Covid-19 vaccine doses.

The Regional Chairman Williams joined with the People of the middle Mazaruni Area and Region Seven as a whole and expressed gratitude for the humanitarian intervention.
