A Lindener was on Monday fined $16,350 after pleading guilty to a charge for breaching the nationwide curfew.
Dion Joseph, 37, of 464 Oronoque Drive, Retrieve, Linden, appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Joseph pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $16,350 or in default three weeks imprisonment.
The Guyana Police Force (GPF) along with the COVID-19 Task Force, has been conducting nightly patrols across the country and arresting persons for both attending functions that are prohibited under the COVID-19 regulations and/or for breaching the 10:30 pm to 04:00 am curfew.
Many persons have already been placed before the courts.
